FEATURE REQUEST: Provide a Setting to hide Watched content on the Home Screen

[OP’s workaround] Creating a “Smart Collection” and using “Settings > Manage > Libraries screen” to add, remove, and order the collections did exactly what I wanted.
[mod-edit: clarification that the OP’s “solution” is a valid workaround while others are still hoping for the requested feature suggestion to be implemented → toggling of played/unplayed items vs. only showing one or the other with a published collection]

On our Roku TV, the Plex app nicely shows a “Recently Added” list for our Movies and TV libraries. Unfortunately, it displays Watched content in these list which is frustrating, because once watched, we don’t need to see them. We can certainly drill down into the library and filter on Unwatched only, but being able to filter out Watched content by default on the Home screen would make the experience so much cleaner (for us, anyway.)

This is a feature that’s been requested for a while, but for some reason falls on deaf ears.

(Plex user for over 5 years, and we bought a Plex Pass last year.)

I don’t have any votes left, but if I did, I’d vote for this. Seems simple and logical.

Same here. I think this should be a “row option” for every hub. Reason being, I like the hubs Plex creates, and it’d be silly to try to replicate all of them with “unplayed” smart collections.

Obviously still not a feature yet. Took me a while to find the work around. My issue was my wife finds Plex confusing to find episodes she hasn’t watched yet among episodes being listed from my shows.

I used this work around by basically creating a folder for just her shows, adding a library with her name on it and using only that folder for the media. Then using this work around on her shows in that library. Finally, I added that smart collection to the home screen so she sees it second in the list and doesn’t have to change from the home screen. Seems to have worked.

This seems like a no brainer, why would I want to see content I’ve already watched on the home screen.
