I’ve had an issue for a long time with the Plex Home Screen and the way it displays Recently Added Movies. Before I get to my issue/feature request, I recently saw the option in Library settings to manage the recommendations for the Home Screen which is pretty good, but it would be nice if there were some more options or filters to these settings:

  1. Recently Added Movies: I don’t have any issue with the order of the movies being displayed but I think there should be an option or maybe a filter to only display Unplayed movies in the Recently Added Movies list which is currently displaying a mix of roughly 100 watched and unwatched movies, doesn’t seem to have an end date. [mod-edit: duplicate; see below]

  2. Top Unplayed Movies: I thought displaying this list of recommendations would fix my first problem but realised it is meant to show unplayed movies based on user ratings? which doesn’t make sense to me since it is only displays 12 movies, and they don’t seem to be the highest user rating, or by release year, so I’m not sure how it’s sorting them. Would be great if there was a filter on this as well to show ALL Unplayed Movies and sort them by Release Year or Date Added rather than user rating.

These seem like sensible recommendations filters to me, hopefully everyone agrees :slight_smile:

There’s two feature suggestions covering what you’re describing in #1:

  1. Hide watched items from recently added → Show Only Unwatched in "Recently Added" - #2 by Behold
  2. option to hide watched items from all home hubs → FEATURE REQUEST: Provide a Setting to hide Watched content on the Home Screen

I suggest you comment/vote in those threads in order to avoid distracting votes (considering #1 to be a duplicate)

With regards to #2: I don’t have the exact filter criteria for the Top Unplayed hub. You can easily create your own ones using a smart collection and publishing that to the Home Screen…

Thanks for the response, very helpful. I’ve managed to get a smart collection going on the Home Screen that will do for now. I’ve upvoted the other two posts you mentioned.
