Is there a way when using the myplex feature “shared libraries” to dump all of the various shared libraries into a “pool” that way we dont have to bounce back and forth from all the shared libraries so there would be a pool of tv shows, music, movies etc all in one for all the libraries as a top level option that would pull them all at once? For example when I goto the library tab there is a seperate selection for the various content. Maybe you have a header like on each myplex library “combined conent” or something. I would think this would be a lot faster navigating instead of bouncing between shared libraries.
Personally, I think that content from all servers should be combined, especially on mobile devices where it is more difficult to manage the details of where something is coming from. I was particularly surprised when I saw that cloud sync didn't work the same way as plex sync, and simply change the status of files in the server that performed the transcoding.
Of course, with the ability to share just the cloud sync library, It wouldn't make sense for this to work exactly like plex sync. Instead, since Plex knows the meta information for most content, it would be nice if everything was combined. Some simple heuristics could be performed to prefer certain sources over others. And this would optimally be configurable at the client in the same way that Plex sync prioritization is.
I think you guy's have valid comments and i would also like to see this implemented. Now that PMS is nearing v1.0 it would be great if the devs focus on the shared content and the adult content controls....
Interesting read. I wonder if it would be possible to just have duplicates or pick and choose which content/severs to combine. Then again if there is multiple huge library’s this could be an issue. If someone could think of a good way to get this done I would imagine it could be possible. Even if we could just have a way to have a section for all tv shows divided by servers it would help instead of going back and forth so much to bounce between shared libraries. So it would look like something like this:
Shared libraries
-------------------------
Combined Movies:
Server 1
Server 2
Server 3
Combined TV shows:
Server 1
Server 2
Server 3
Combined music:
Server 1
Server 2
Server 3
Then Standard shared libraries
Server 1
TV, movies, music
Server 2
TV, movies, music
Server 3
TV, movies, music
Just having the option in the settings tab to change how they are sorted or add the combined option or vice versa.

Ideally i would like to be able to set which content i share to what device even on the local LAN. I have 4 ATVs in the house some Macs and PC and iPads so it would be great to say this device only gets this and this device get all... so then i can make sure the kids are only getting the kids movies and shows.... I think currently developments are getting there, but that would be the best option for me :-)
Not going to happen guys i am afraid as it adds in a fair amount of issues and i am guessing this is the reason most other clients show servers separate as well.
