+1 for the feature
Unfortunately this is the correct answer
Come on Plex, this is seriously such a bad customer service issue now. There is next to no response from you to any of these past threads over the last couple years, the other players have this feature, you have paying customers begging for this to be added, and yet you kick the can down the road and ignore us. Thanks!
Why is plex staff so quiet? Are they not looking in these forums? Is this such a hard thing to implement that no devs dare to comment? It would nice to have a someone within the plex âteamâ to give us a clue to whatâs going on, in whether this feature will be addressed or not. If not please say why. And if it will be, please give a ârealâ eta. Not just âin the futureâ comment wich has already been made with obviously just the intention to shut people up.
Plex clients should all show the same metadata.
It is not just actor images that are different. There are many other metadata differences among clients. The unified UI was a joke⊠The only thing uniform about it is the left side navigation menu.
Maybe the server could have check boxes for what metadata to show on the clients and also be specific to each library. At a minimum though the data shown should be the same across client devices.
Also would like this feature⊠It drives me nuts that the best player out there has the worst feature set! Love plex otherwise though <3
+1 for the feature
I really canât believe this is not available for Shield / Android Tv. I just want to be able to see writer/director and cast. I guess devs are busy with other things, but this essential feature is missing from the otherwise most feature rich client. We have Tidal soundtrack integration which is cool but kind of useless as someone without a tidal sub.
Thnx. I just voted.
I hope other people do the same.
The vote means nothing as i can tell this sugestions takes years, like this one, to get implemented.
because plex spends more time making posts like this instead of actualy implement the sugestions:
Feature Requests mean nothing - nothing more than a good feeling when users think theyâre actually doing something by voting.
If Plex wants to add a feature - theyâll add/change/blow up a feature.
Feature Requests do nothing - as the 144 Votes in this one illustrate perfectly.
Time to circle back and just post that I canât believe we donât have actor images on Android.
This has to be an incredibly easy add. Now that the Android client has a decent implementation of UNO, why the heck has this not happened?!
Even better would be a nice update to all of the pre-play screens on Android TV, which would include the addition of actor images.
The ONLY âDecentâ iteration of UNO still ONLY exists on Roku.
The UNO implementation on Android - is a) hilarious - and b) quite disappointing.
I donât really use Plex on Roku, so I havenât gotten to play with it.
What are the key differences in implementation?
The Roku UNO App is a wonder of these modern times.
Everything (except those 31 clicks to get to Westerns) is right at your fingertips.
The interface flies from one place to another.
The app on android sucks to high heaven in comparison and Roku Owners will do ANYTHING to stay on that Roku, no matter what.
The above is what âThose Who Pray At The Altar Of Shieldâ wonât tell you - either because they serve only one master, or theyâre ignorant of pure bliss in A Plex App and that would be UNO on Roku.
You can buy 2 Roku Ultras - for the price of 1 Shield.
I like a Lincoln Town Car as much as the next guy - but it only comes in Pink - they can keep it.
So, in terms of performance, do you think that the difference is Android vs. Rokuâs OS, or the dev team, or both?
AFAIC - there is no Dev Team working on FireTV - and the guys working on Android, in general have never seen UNO on Roku⊠if they had theyâd know just how bad theyâre messinâ up.
What Iâm seeing on FireTV is a hilarious joke and Plex should be embarrassed by it.
I am really missing that feature too, since I used the PC web interface on my NAS before I switched to the Nvidia Shield TV Pro. Which is actually working great, but it is really not understandable that this feature, which is already there, is not available on Android based devices. Please add this
It helps alot.
