It’s obvious we will never get this feature (that is not a features but is something missing on android platform in comparison to the other).
We have any kind of weekly update with useless things and this important one is never included.

I honestly think Plex expects us to use Kodi on android TV platforms… the plex plugin has the cast features built into it… but then we lose the “collections” functionality. FML.

Why should we use the Kodi Add on when the Plex app is available, I tried and works fine but the original Plex app is easy

Giving this feature request a much-needed bump. Would actually be nice if there was some extra customization in the settings, like a list of checkboxes for selecting the metadata we’d like to see in the app. All of that info is already on the server, right? The first thing I’d do is turn off the reviews and add the cast.
8.0 version out and still no list of actors… Plex please, you’re not even trying

The Nvidia shield is probably the best streaming device for Plex. What gives? I switched from Apple TV because the player sucks on there for 4K movies / HDR (a lot of stuttering). No actor info is not a deal breaker for me, but why lack such a simple function? Why doesn’t Plex staff actively participate in their own forums?

Yes, please make this just like the Roku interface which would fix this problem and some others.
Even the PS4 app, which is pretty terrible in general, has this feature. I moved from PS4 to the Android TV app on my Shield and was really disappointed when I learned it not only doesn’t have this, but it will shove Rotten Tomatoes reviews down my throat. The quality and stability of the player is so much better, but that’s about it. They really should give us more control over the metadata we want to see for our own content.

Really miss this feature.
I see quite a good number of masochist Android / Plex comrades.
It should have a big warning to every Android user that Plex is NOT meant for it and that should stop the bleeding.
If you are tired like myself cross the rainbow and embrace Emby.
I just use android devices and Plex is in the best case a nightmare for it.
I’m just tired of complaining about stability and features that are missing on this forum and not receiving any support. I really wish that I never payed the lifetime Plex Pass. Hope they listen me an refund me but they probably are not honered enough to do that.
