One of the most annoying things when starting to watch a movie on my Mac Mini media center is that Plex client is not running and I first need to start it with the help of my Air Mouse, Keyboard or Third party app (Mobile Mouse).
It would be extremely handy when it will be possible to start up the Plex client on a server with the Plex iPhone app. With that functionality you are independent of any other hardware or software. The only thing you need to make sure is that your computer or mac is running.
With this feature I'm able to start, watch and quit Plex with one and the same app.
*An good example: There is a similar app for Spotify called Remoteless. This is a remote control app for Spotify which allows you to start Spotify on your Mac (or PC) when it's not running.*
In Windows develop a small task symbolapp (beside the clock) that waits for incoming bonjour requests and published this client to the “plex world”. So the iPhone see this Client and sends a request to it to start a choosen video to play it. The mini-app starts plex and comit the request to the full plex app.

Coolblue, could you please provide more details on the solution you mentioned above. what do you mean by "develop a small task symbolapp"?
