I like the existing EPG with recommended shows etc but I would love it if I was able to view the upcoming shows by channel as well. Often I only watch content on a select few channels so it would be nice to see what’s coming up and set it to record without having to move away to different sites.
I agree. Most of us are used to see content by channel.
Lot of important programs don’t show up on the current EPG.
I could not find the Academy awards (Oscars) on the current EPG. Something is missing in the current EPG. It is hard to find anything/

I believe if you go to Program Guide -> Discover -> (Movies|News|Sports|Shows) -> All (There is a drop down box to select channel.)
Except you can’t view all guide content in the one view that way, you have to go separately to shows, movies, news etc. Pretty laborious and no way to see all the schedule for the channel simultaneously.

I love Plex + HDHR, but I’d love to see the usual TV listing we’re used to (ex.: http://www.tvguide.com/listings/ )
That is a table in which:
-each row is a channel from the DVR’s EPG (filters or personalized list would be awesome)
-each column represents the time/date (along with arrows to move forward/backward 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week)

I would like for options to list the channels by channel number, channel name, and to have a favorites list.
I think a great place for this would be the drop down that lists: Discover, Watch Now, Movies, Sports, News, etc…I’d like to see more options to display the same information in different ways. There are times when any of these different methods are beneficial. I definitely would like the default view to be as is, because I like the way Plex has organized the EPG. It is innovative, and blends right into the rest of the media center.

A Channel Guide was added to Live TV, per the latest Plex Web 3.23.1 (changelog here).
There is now a button at the bottom of the live TV screen, as circled in blue:
