This feature would introduce a new type of account to the Plex ecosystem.
Description:
This new type of account would have all the same basic abilities of a regular account with the following additional features:
- Two or more regular accounts would be “linked” to the hybrid account.
- Each linked account could add to the watch-list of the hybrid account
- The watch together button for a hybrid account would auto invite all linked accounts to the watch together session.
- Content recommendations would be pulled from each linked account to form a hybrid recommended list.
Purpose:
This new type of account would be aimed at two main groups of people:
- Couples - This would let couples watch and manage the content that they wish to view together easily in one spot.
- Movie Night Groups - This would let a group of people coordinate and add content to a pool to be watched together.
Benefits:
The primary benefit of this method is ease of use.
Currently to get a similar outcome you could create a local user and use it for your shared needs. however this is clunky when discovering new content, and adding it to a watch-list of a separate account.
