Feature suggestion

One of the best things about Plex for me is the organization and the ability to see what has been watched. On the topic of organization, I would like to know if there is a way to view media that has multiple files attached to it. For example: I’m trying to watch Pokemon Heroes Latios and Latias with my daughter but it had that file and the Pokemon I Choose You movie attached to it and it would play the I Choose You file. This caused some issue for me as the Plex app on my Roku only showed the correct file when I went to the properties and when I loaded the file on my laptop with VLC it was of course the correct movie. It didn’t display the second file until I went in to Plex on my laptop (then I accidentally deleted the other movie when trying to unlink it but that was on me).

I don’t know if this already exists and I missed it or not but a simplistic window in the settings to show a list of media with multiple files would be very appreciated. I’m sure others would appreciate the ability to sort between music and videos, though I just use it for TV and movie files that I’ve gotten friends to rip from my DVDs.

You can filter your library by Duplicates. This will show only those items in your library that have multiple files associated to themselves (which Plex considers to be different quality versions of that movie).

Edit: you can then use the Split Apart action from that item’s context menu and re-match the item that was mismatched.

Thank you very much. I just assumed duplicate would indicate if I had multiple movies of the same title and not that a title might have multiple sources. I figured out why most of my Cheech and Chong movies were missing too.

Again, thank you Tom.

And for anyone that comes across this and can’t find the filters, you have to change the view to exclude folders so all your stuff appear in the main window first then you can filter it.
