I have Comcast as my ISP, and they recently (11/2016) rolled out data caps on my internet service. Even though the data cap is 1 terabyte per month, my family has already gone over that cap in December and January forcing us to make changes with our viewing behavior with existing online content services (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon prime, YouTube, etc…). Because of this, streaming my content from my own server offers me the ability to not use internet bandwidth to enjoy using Plex to view my content.
Additionally, my family loves to go RV-ing, and we seldom have internet service when we do, so having Plex functional with a local only network is a really important feature for me.
I appreciate your company pushing the boundaries of internet based technology, and if not for the internet caps by my ISP I would jump all over this.
