Good work folks, nice iteration on the previous search implementation.
Two comments:
Is there plans to eventually have a grid style view after selecting view more results ? The detailed list IMO is just to wasteful of space which I know is subjective. I get the list for the drop down but when your on the main search results page a grid would be nicer.
Mr Samuel Jackson is always my go to person when testing search as he is in my movies, tv and music libraries on my server. Is it expected that the music results would be considered the top results when searching for his name ?
There are not any current plans for a grid but I will pass that feedback along.
He is considered an Artist on that track so it does seem to be prioritizing that. Which does seem odd not to have himself first. Will pass that along too. Thanks
Iād like to second the request for a grid view option on the search. Only 6 results per screen and so much empty space looks terrible and actually not as helpful as the previous search results.
All the improvements under the skin arenāt worth all that much if the UI isnāt so good.
Although, I guess some will like the new list soā¦ so this should be an optional toggle.
Iām the odd person that primarily used search for Discover instead of my own media. Now itās one extra click to get to the Discover page for media by clicking the server name in the result, then clicking āMore ways to watchā whereas before I could click directly on the Discover result. Also, the server name is a smaller click target as well.
I like the new look and idea, but, I find it frustrating that I have to now do three clicks to quickly find something in the LiveTV Guideā¦is there a way that we could add a āpriorityā setting to the drop down list? Before it was way easier to scroll down to the different catergories and it was only one click. Adding under the āSources to Searchā settings icon, it would be great to add the different catergories like āTop results, Movies and Shows, Music, Live TVā etcā¦
It wasnāt really a grid before, it was a series of rows/hubs. I thought @anon5074910 was more referring to something more like the library view of posters but he can correct me if I am wrong
Take this screenshot compared to my OP above. While certainly NOT perfect and it can be iterated upon the previous more results search page was cleaner with less scrolling and wasted space on screen. I can find what Iām looking for much faster with this layout (the goal of any search) when compared to the new list view which has been implemented.
Again, the list view is fantastic for the top bar but when it comes to the more results page, not so much. My own personal opinion and again subjective to my own preferences.
