Files delete but empty directory (folder) remains on filesystem

After some forum searching, it appears this is normal behaviour for Plex. TIL

[Request/Bug] Delete movie folder

Currently when deleting a movie in PHT or Plexweb it only deletes the movie file. I have my movies in separate folders so I can add posters & trailers and stuff. So now I have to manually delete the folders which takes a lot of time. Would be nice and logical if it also deletes the containing folder with the same name.

Library not updating deleted folders

Hi to all. I was wondering if you could help me with a small problem I am having. I will try and explain it as clearly as possible.   Firstly, this is what I am trying to do. I want to delete a folder which is being monitored by Plex Server on my computer which is acting as the server. When does Plex delete empty folders?

I know that Plex deletes empty folders in a library, but I want to know when. I set up a test with 3 folder. Empty, a zero byte file, and a 1 byte file. I wanted to make sure a zero byte file is sufficient. But it’s been days now and all three are still there. Can someone tell me when Plex does these folder deletions? It there some periodic maintenance task?
