Filmography not showing movies on my NAS

Server Version#: 1.40.3.8555
Player Version#:
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

Up until yesterday, the filmography section no longer shows on my NAS. The title can be played from the search bar but when selecting an actor (John Wayne in this case), it only shows those movies currently “On Plex”.

The screenshot provided shows an example. All of the titles in this screenshot are no longer identified as “My-NAS”. If I select Big Jake and bring up the title page, it does not have the “Play” button. It acts as if I don’t have the movie in my library, but if I search for it, it is there and can be played as seen in the last screenshot.

Did this feature get removed or possible bug???

There are sometimes timeouts. Just refreshing the page may show them. Is it happening in any other app besides web?

My Roku shows up just fine. I have refreshed screen many times and even did a metadata refresh to no avail.

have you tried a force refresh which also bypasses any browser cache?

in chrome Shift+Ctrl+R windows Shift+CMD+R Mac

BigWheel that solved the issue immediately! Thank you for suggesting that. I’ll be sure my browser cache is cleaned up periodically! Appreciate the help.

Just a quick update. The solution did work on the actor’s filmography page. I then chose another actor and had the same issue with movies associated to him showing up. Did the cache refresh and it worked as previously suggested. Went to Chrome and completely refreshed data, history, cache etc. and the issue still exists on other actors filmography pages.

Tested again in MS Edge browser and same issue applies. Refreshed per BigWheel’s suggestion and it fixes the issue for that actor’s page. So it must be in how Plex is handling a browser’s cache system. Thoughts?

Thank you for the update. I will need to report to team that handles that.

Thank you BigWheel!

Following this because I’m having the same issue. Plex doesnt seem to be showing things on the filmography page that I have locally with the “On Plex” tag. But the same movie shows in the search bar. Kinda driving me nuts. The “in chrome Shift+Ctrl+R windows Shift+CMD+R Mac” trick seems to help but it requires this on each actor or movie I click on.

Thanks for all the help!

Thanks for sharing mousepad. Definitely frustrating. I use this feature all of the time. I updated to the latest server version for my QNAP Plex Server and the issue still remains. Hopefully it will get resolved soon.

Big Wheel, any updates?

Thx

Any update to this problem? I noticed today mine is doing the same thing. When I hit Shift+Ctrl+R it shows my movies in filmography but when I go to another actor it doesn’t show my movies again.

Correct. You’ll need to refresh on that page as well or navigate back and forth (basically refreshing the page) to see your server availabilities listed.

This issue has been around for awhile but has been getting reported more. This is a web/desktop issue. If you are observing this on any other clients please let us know.

The latest Web (4.134.2) and Desktop (1.97.2) releases have a fix for the issue reported here.

Is there a way to update my Plex web app on my media server. Or do I have to wait until there is a update for the server. It says on support that ( Newer versions of the web app will be included with new Plex Media Server releases )

It will come with a future server update. (Cannot promise it will be the very next one however)
