When in the plex server intranet page and you go to music > filter > track. Then enter criteria of “Artist Title” “contains” it does not account for individual track’s artists anymore. Which is a problem because my library contains artists that only have tracks within-group albums. Not independently. Thus I can’t generate a quick playlist of just their tracks.
TL;DR (explaining how I confirmed my understanding of the issue)
How I confirmed this was true. I attempted searching for multiple artists which were not listed as an album’s artist, but instead only an artist of individual tracks. I then double-checked that the individual songs had that track artist set within plex (which they did). I then tried filling out the same of some collaborative band titles (basically the name used for a group of artists to publish a bunch of different peoples works as one album, but that group title is never used for an individual track). Then tracks started showing up.
Side note: I refer to “track artist” meaning the artist meta-data you can set for individual tracks within an album that does not affect any other tracks in that album (being explicit because plex doesn’t refer to these as track artist)
