With the addition of TIDAL to Plex, it would be awesome to be able to sync music from the TIDAL servers to phones and to the Plex server itself. The lack of this feature is a bit painful on phones at least, and adding the ability to sync to the server would help allow users to round out their library without having to cull through a server of albums they don’t care about.
The ability to sync to servers will probably never come.
There are just too many legal/license obstacles.
On the server end, I wasn’t necessarily thinking about literally downloading it to the server. I was considering the possibility of just marking it in the library like a normal album so it shows up under that artist but plays from TIDAL. Having a separate library for this is kind of a pain.
On the mobile end, however, I would like to be able to download it to play offline, similar to how it’s done with Sync from normal servers.
This is already kinda happening. If you browse your music by Artist, you will get a new hub ‘Tidal Albums’, which would show all album titles on Tidal which are not already in your library.
It only ends up working with about 20 items in its current interpretation, which means that most older albums for an artist get cut off for modern compilations. This is especially problematic for 70’s/80’s artists like Michael Jackson and Yes.
Seconded on syncing to mobile. Without this feature there is much less utility.
