When is Amazon updating Plex to v 9? I’m still 8.31 and see none of the new features.

HOW? Where is version 9? My Amazon TV only has 8.3 :frowning:

Yeah, mine does too but I installed new version manually to try new features. You can also get it here: Plex for Android

Which, I’m sorry, but if this feature does not work in it’s entirety on Roku, then it’s pretty obvious that this new shiny toy should not have been rolled out across all devices and platforms when it’s not even useful or easy as the marketing claims.

I kid you not. I didn’t even dare read the blog about this new feature because it usually is filled with marketing fluff. I just knew it was too good to be true and it is. It’s BS.

Nvidia Shield TV.

Many folks have access to multiple servers so even if not going to an outside streaming service it will list all servers they have access to. Or it can just be used as a reminder about a movie or show even if not going anywhere.

Yeah, I can confirm selecting streaming services with a touch device doesn’t work when using a web browser.

Then the limitation of content solely being tied to the Plex Scanner and Agent should be reimagined or discarded because there is content that many of us cannot and won’t find on streaming services because we carefully added this content manually, adhering to the metadata guidelines, but then are not able to add this content to Watchlist because it’s not identifiable per Plex’s new scheme.

Sure, we can manually search for said content, but the whole purpose of Watchlist was to come back to a film, a tv show, or whatever was put into those libraries.

Apparently if we have any content within the TV show or Movie libraries that are using Personal Media Shows, Personal Media, or the third party scanners, this content won’t be allowed on Watchlist, which is super annoying.

You can add something even if it is not yet on any of your accessible servers nor any streaming service. Like you can add The Batman which is not on any streaming service at the moment.

It does use the new GUIDs which the new agents also use which is what links everything. I understand that there are reasons that some folks are sticking with the old or third party agents right now ( like subzero or anime agents) but as far as I am aware new features going forward like this will require the new agents being used

It has been sent to Amazon we are just waiting for them to approve it.

you can side load it if you are fine with tinkering with things. https://www.addictivetips.com/media-streaming/sideload-apps-fire-tv-stick/

you can get it from the release notes Plex for Android - #489 by PlexAndroidReleaser

Looks pretty good. Would be nice if streamers showed up as a library option and not just in separate section at bottom of search.

Paramount+ Australia doesnt click straight through but instead takes you to a screen to choose app and then through to homescreen of app.

Netflix library for Australia seems to be incomplete. Several Korean shows on Netflix appear in the streaming list but when you click through the list of sources is empty rather than link to Netflix.

Yeah library doesn’t seem entirely up to date. Whole series of K dramas missing from Netflix etc

When are we getting an option to disable Discover? There are no Plex Employees responding to this, and this is a massive problem.

Loving this feature so far, but would love the ability to sort my watchlist by when something had the most recent release added (i.e. for new episodes of TV shows). Right now sorting by date shows only when a show FIRST aired, not when it MOST RECENTLY aired. Thanks!

FYI @BigWheel , shows that are on BBC iPlayer are directing me to the Play Store even though the app is installed. Love the functionality otherwise though!

Which device and was there a particular show or all shows? have seen issues were some were selected and some where not.

Where do you address the r rated content being shown to kids on kids profiles with content restrictions?

Can we get that answer please?

Or when you’re rolling this update back or allowing it to be disabled?

I had to step away to clear my head after reading your response to my concern.

SVT is called SVT Play in Sweden. Shows show up in discovery, but you can’t launch the app because there is no app called SVT.
