Find where to watch something with "Discover" and your "Watchlist"

@tcochran1987_gmail_com It does not work with managed user because we cannot yet control what might be returned as a recommendation from an external service. managed accounts are generally used for kids and we don’t want to recommend something inappropriate

At this point I’m not even seeing a way to have Watchlist show me which episodes I should watch next, even if those are in my Plex Library. It just shows me the entire series and I have to hunt… unless I’m missing something.

Seems like a really good idea, but; although I have added the streaming channels on offer only Amazon Prime, YouTube Prime and Netflix are being displayed. BBC iPlayer, Google TV and many others are not being displayed.

I really love the features and was really looking forward to it, especially the watchlist. I have one question though, how does it get which Country catalogue it must query? I receive the streaming provider link from another country where the content is actually not available as opposite to what it is stated in Plex. It would be a nice feature to be able to set the specific catalogue for each streaming provider

Nice feature! Will there be an API?

Then please let us have the option of turning off discovery for particular managed users. I ONLY use the admin account for administrative reasons. Everyone else in the family has their own managed account. I absolutely love the idea of Discovery, but we simply can’t use it as-is until it’s enabled for managed users.

Looks interesting. Am I missing something though as I can’t see Hulu listed?

I love this feature so much.
Only issues are that its not available to my users (only admin) and that I cant seem to remove the “trending” and “upcoming trailers” from my Home screen. I only want those being listed in the Discover tab.

Cool feature but apparently Roku can’t link to any apps outside of Plex which is a fairly big handicap on that platform.

OK @BigWheel and @OttoKerner, I think the error is due to geo-restrictions, I am outside of the US, if I VPN or DNS, then everything is accessible, I will do some router testing first before I conclude.

It might be interesting to know from which region you are accessing.
Because I am using it from Europe which works as expected.

Send me per PM, if you like.

should be there. do you mean on the detail page or the streaming services settings? We do try to limit those to ones available in a region so if you are a VPN making it seem you are someplace Hulu is not available it might not show

no luck whatsoever from mac os or apple tv. no sign of this feature nor any way to sign up to get it. and i don’t understand about the library settings about plex movies–all my libraries are just random videos and when i set any stuff which applies to movies plex drags in a bunch of trash and trailers which have nothing to do with the video.

i do have a /watchlist/ tab at top of screen, but when i click it there’s just a blurb announcing it and saying i can use it, but not a single button or control offering to let me add anything to it. and without the discover feature, pretty useless.

i’ve logged out and in from everything and restarted my mac which is the server. nothing nada crickets.

[later note] just tried the ios app and nothing there either.

I select a few services (Netflix, Amazon, BBC iPlayer) from the list however I am being recommended content to watch from services I did not select and am not subscribed to (Pluto TV, Apple TV, SkyGo etc…) is this expected behaviour? I would rather only see content from subscriptions I actually have.

Works on MacOS 11.6.4
Server version :1.25.9.5673-bf5697c5d

Oh, limiting to location is a bit weird and surely rather against the “watch anywhere” approach of Plex. I’m often not in the same county (or continent) as my server.

Can you please consider adding an “unfilter” button.

@BigWheel - is it possible to for the “watch from these locations” to be just only pinned libraries? Because I have content in 4k libraries and separate 1080p libraries, and the “watch from these locations” are showing both since I would have a copy in both libraries.

your server should still show up as an option regardless of where you are. I meant if Hulu is not available in the place you are then it Hulu might not show up

@Basche I will pass that feedback along. The idea was to show all places as one might forget they have access something in a library they don’t have pinned , which might be from a friends server
