Hi, thanks for clarifying - appreciated. In this instance, Hulu isn’t currently available where I am today, but it will be where I am next week, and where i subscribe to it. I’d like it in my watch list, but currently can’t add it, or search for programmes on it.
Very cool.
App linking is working in iOS but not tvOS. I haven’t tried other streaming boxes I own.
For stated reasons, you have to manually update the watched status, that’s fine. Will the next/current episode ever appear in the Continue Watching list? Or will you always have to page over to watchlist, find the show/season/episode?
Again, I know you can’t sync watched status with external sources, but some kind of mid-level watched status would be good, like it could be assumed one watched an episode from clicking on it in Plex, and maybe show the next episode in Continue Watching and just ask for confirmation if they finished the last ep.
EDIT: Netflix and Prime will link to external apps in tvOS, but not Paramount+ or HBOmax.
Thank you. Since seeing and trying to avoid transcoding if a family members randomly clicks on a 4k library while watching on 1080p screen. So trying to make is as easy as possible. Appreciate the quick response.
This is excellent! The only thing it doesn’t seem to be doing is allowing me to subscribe to sports teams. I did a search for “Chelsea” and even though Peacock has them, it didn’t return anything. Same for US Men’s National Soccer team etc.
This would be an absolute killer feature if it was included.
Also, no YouTubeTV.
Congrats on solving the biggest problem in streaming!
These new features sound really cool but how is Plex going about protecting privacy? If I click on a service like Amazon to link with my account, does Plex share my data usage and or our private libraries with third party companies?
No, it doesn’t. It simply asks whether “Title X” is available or not.
This has been addressed in the blog as well: End the Streaming Struggle with Plex | Plex
Thank you Otto.
1.25.8 media server and on an m1 mac mini running public beta of monterey. /guy
How do you add to the list or remove from the list you originally chose?
Add
Movies and TV Shows have an Add to Watchlist item in their context menu.
They also have a respective icon on their details page.
Remove
You can remove an item From the watchlist same as you added it (context menu Remove from Watchlist, icon on the details page).
You can also remove them from the Watchlist tab on the home screen.

Edit: I suppose I misunderstood that question…
you can edit the streaming provider preferences in the account settings.
https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/streaming-services
If you mean the list of streaming services: it’s available in most clients and in the properties of your account. https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/streaming-services
just popped up on the desktop app. /guy
It sounds good - but without sync with Trakt or at least the individual services it is hard to use.
As i won’t manually maintain my watched list now also on Plex.
(as alone on TV Shows my stats are: 23,378 episodes of 604 shows… And for movies it is similar…)
And and it would be nice to see the technical details/quality (Audio and Video) and Audio Languages of the external content. As there are still a lot of services with only 720p and Stereo while there are others with the same content but UHD+DV + ATMOS Sound…
I couldn’t click on Actors, is it intentional?
Maybe a memorabilia for Android users (for good times’ sake) ![]()
Man, this is a big deal…
I want in! Beta me
Haha, it sure is.
Loving this Discover tbh, probably one the best thing happened in Plex for me. ![]()
Request to have YouTube tv added to the list of services. I saw other live TV services added like sling and fubo. Would love to get YouTube tv added.
Great feature! Congrats on the launch.
The biggest gap for me is pulling in my list of purchased movies from Apple/iTunes. But at least I’m now searching just two places (Plex + Apple TV app) rather than several.
