So I have some x265 formatted media that essentially does not work via a PS5, so I picked up a Fire TV Cube. First time use it seems perfect - playback works.
When I enable OpenSRT subtitles they seem to work fine via direct play as well as transcoding. Sometimes when switching subtitles it kicks me out of the video and I have to relaunch it and generally it works.
If the FireTV goes to sleep and I come back to it then subtitles are completely broken. Nothing works whatsoever. If I try to change it then it will either accept it and keep playing but show nothing, or it will kick me out of the playing media to a library screen and re-playing it won’t remember subtitle choices.
Rebooting the FireTVCube allows subtitles to work again. It’s a major inconvenience on the device. Going without subtitles is not a valid option for my use case.
Has anyone seen a configuration or workaround for this? It’s driving me mad.
