I keep running in to a issue with subs on titles that are partially played.
The subs just quit displaying.
Plex server is running Ubuntu, up to date. I’m running a firetv 4k for the player.
If I restart the movie the subs work fine.

Hmm. You can manually select a subtitle file mid-movie. Bring up the video interface, and select the (for me) left-most icon, that looks like a square with morse code inside (dots and dashes). This is the subtitle interface.
When you resume a file and subtitles don’t appear to work, tell me if the subtitle is even enabled. It would be good info to know if the subtitle is enabled but not working, or if it just forget to enable the subtitle on resume.
I’d also like to know if this subtitle you use is automatically enabled (for foreign audio or whatever server setting you used) or if you manually turned it on for the video in the first place.
Yes the subtitle is still showing up as enabled. I can even select a different one, it still won’t show on screen unless I start the movie over.
It doesn’t matter if it’s set automatically or manually. If I let the firetv goto sleep, turn it off mid movie, or go back to the home screen, it breaks it.
Having this issue on certain files now too. They all work fine in VLC and other players.
