Since the last update, subtitles no longer display on my FireTV cube, FireTV Max and FireTV Stick. Used to work all the time.
However it does display on Server and desktop apps. It’s possible to connect to tv, but better to use the app as we have things like volume control on the remote!
I just went back to using Plex on a new Nvidia Shield. In years past, obtaining closed captioning was an issue, which was one reason I abandoned it. I assumed, years later, with a new server this problem would have been fixed, but on my first recording this morning I had no closed captioning on either my Mac client or my Android phone client. VERY frustrating!!! I been using a competitor’s DVR system for the past year and never had this CC issue.
I also noticed that it would appear on the NVidia Shield, but none of the color or positioning options worked on live playbacks.
