I have shared certain shows, movies, documentaries with my parents’ plex account.
The problem is the “shared” folder is empty. It sometimes gives the following message:
“No content available for this library. This library is currently empty. The server owner needs to add media or remove any filters that may prevent it from appearing here. Please reach out to the owner for assistance”.
Sometimes clicking on the “shared” folder does absolutely nothing.
I am able to share an entire library, and that will show up. ex. I shared my entire “TV Shows” and “Home Movies” libraries and they show up and function properly. But they don’t want all the shows (942 of them), they only want certain ones.
So I went to each show, movie, documentary and shared them one by one. The “shared” folder remains empty on their Fire Stick. I signed into their account on my Fire Stick and am able to replicate the issue.
I logged in to their plex account in a browser and everything shows properly in the “shared” folder. So this issue has to do with Plex on Fire Stick specifically.
This has been an issue for about a year, just getting around to creating a post. I was hoping one of the updates to the Plex app on Fire Stick over the last year would resolve this, but they have not.
My parents’ Fire TV is remote, and my Fire TV stick is local.
I am a lifetime plex pass holder and my server is hosted on a Synology NAS. This problem was present on DSM 6 and remains the same on DSM 7).
