Playing movies on firestick TV Max sometimes buffer, sometimes screen freezes and you only hear audio and other times will give “and error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please check your connection and try again.”
The movie works on all other streaming devices even on same TV’s. Even with the firestick 4K. I have tried 2 separate Firestick 4K MAX and they both have the issue. The movie is .mp4, H264 and AAC Stereo. It is doing direct play. Is there any fix for this?

To effectively debug issues like this, we need to know the details of player, server, video, hardware. So it’s common to share:
- the xml info of the file showing this problem
- and a sample file clip of the file showing this problem
- a player log and a server debug log captured after you reboot then demonstrate the problem.
- description of your network & hardware involved including model numbers
- connection format negotiated between MAX and WiFi AP
- I doubt you can get signal strength or S:N ratio but that would help. Often you can infer it from a link with 100 Mbps potential saying it’s linked at 50 Mbps, or at 25 Mbps.
