Firestick 4k stopped working

I have always used the Plex app on firestick 4k and never had an issue before, starting a couple months ago I cannot connect and see my media anymore. I cleared cache/data, force stopped, even reinstalled the app and checked settings. Relogged in several times and still nothing.

App loads and logs in fine but the server name shows up with a triangle and an ! and acts like it doesn’t even try to connect anymore.

Updated server, even reinstalled it on desktop as well.

I can login via an app on the same TV using the LG Plex app and everything is fine. So doesn’t seem like it would be a network issue.

Can’t figure out why the Firestick will not connect anymore though, any ideas on anything else to check or try? I was hoping this was just some random issue with an update that would resolve itself but still a no go.

Sounds strange, presumably other apps on FireTV stick work ok?

I would enable network logging in the app and see if you can spot anything in the logs.

Yea, every other app on the Firestick works as it always has.

Plex is the only one, just tried again and still nothing on Firestick but logs in perfect with the same account on the local network, same TV with LG Plex app and works.

I enabled logging on the firestick and the only kind of weird thing I see is:

Doesn’t really help me though.

I’ve also tried changing the Allow Insecure Connections set to Always and Secure connections is set to Preferred as I saw that in some threads but still nothing.

Plex app logs in fine, loads all the usual stuff but I cannot connect to my media. It shows up by name but with the yellow triage and ! and doesn’t even seem like it tries to connect. When I click on it just goes to another screen with some music content on Plex.

Appreciate any ideas…

So 192.168.0.2 is your PMS then.

Does seem something is stopping the app speaking to it.

Can only think perhaps a firewall or the firetv not being assigned a LAN IP properly, check your router?

Probably best to gather full client and server logs and hopefully someone from Plex support can help…

Mine is doing the same thing. When I run Plex Media Server right off my Synology NAS going through my MacBook it runs fine. I cannot get Plex to work off my 5 fire Stick 4K max off my 5 Samsung TVs. I have been working on this issue for over 2 months and still no joy. I’m going to have to locate someone a lot smarter than myself.
