I am currently at work, god help me, and my roomate is unable to access the local plex library on the Firestick that we have setup. They are getting an error of “Activate Plex” we’ve been using this app for free for at least 1.5 years +/- a few months with no problem. Why is there suddenly a charge for it?
I will edit the versions as soon as I get the time to.
Are they seeing a message similar to, “Go to plex.tv/link and enter code XXXX”?
That is just a login process that links the FireStick to your account. It won’t result in a charge.
Have them to to plex.tv/link using a web browser on their phone, tablet, laptop, etc, login with their plex.tv account and enter the code. If they tell you the code you can do it for them.
Well I just asked them and they said they clicked “continue” so the error isn’t there anymore, I have no idea what they did so I had them check their amazon account purchases, assuming an in app purchase. They had replied they don’t see anything and it’s working so I don’t know.
