Have 2 firesticks. Logged on to both using the link codes. I have added an account under friends in the server and granted access to librairies. Can’t add user in the app on the firesticks. The app seems to restart on both firesticks and revert to the home server account.
I have 2 android boxes as well, 1 is set to the proper user but I can’t remember if I did anything differently to make that happen. The other android box is acting the same as the firesticks.
What could I be doing wrong?
What do you mean you can’t add user? If you gave your friend access to your server, they need to log into the Fire TV or whatever device using their own Plex account. If you are already signed into your account, you need to sign out and sign in again, but this time link to their Plex account, not yours.
I got it working, thanks. I had logged out of my account. My wife was logged in to the app on her phone and also in a browser but when I tried to sign in, the code link page wasn’t opening in a browser on her phone, the signup page was coming up. I went to her PC and opened up Plex and then the link page opened in a browser and I could enter the code. Weird but all good now.
When I was trying to add user, it was in the android app and the firestick app. I tapped on my user name, then tapped the +, I was given the option to enter a name and a rating profile. When I selected continue. The app appeared to close and reopen back into my account. I didn’t see any errors. When I went back to add user no new account had been created. I am set as the home admin on the server.
That’s not correct. It should have opened to the user chooser screen. Sounds like the app might have crashed when you hit the continue button. I’m not able to reproduce that crash. Can you try updating the app to the latest 9.5.0 and see if you still get this issue.
On Firestick, when I hit the + to add user and pick None for the restriction profile and if I leave the name blank, it returns “Name cannot be empty”. If I put anything in the Name space, the app restarts. I made a little video to show you what happens.
9.4.1.33413 appears to be the latest version available in the appstore on the Firestick…

Yeah, that looks like a crash. Please get me the android logs from the Firestick so I can see if something got reported.
