Server Version#: Version 1.20.1.3252 (on synology NAS)
Player Version#: 8.7.3.21018 (from Amazon Appstore)
I have this issue since a couple of weeks.
It all started with h.265 videos. Then it affected to all videos.
Basically it “removes” the black bars, and adjust the image to fit in the screen. Therefore it deforms the image.
Is there something I can do on my side to change that?
When I disable the new video player in the app, and try to play a video, the app crashes.
When using the web player on my pc, the video is played correctly.
While the video is playing, bring up the player settings. There is an option to scale the image. Set it to “letterbox”. If you don’t want the black parts but the image in the correct ratio, set it to zoom.

Previously all videos played as large as my screen would allow, maxing out either the height or width. Now 1080p files do play across the full screen, but 780p videos play in a frame about 3/4 of the size, and 480p files play quite small in the middle of the screen.
I’m attributing the problem to …

I have setup a media library and I noticed some movies are stretched vertically to fill my entire TV in the FireTV Stick 4K. I think I should see some black spaces in the top and bottom of the screen. This happened with two movies of mine, because they are 1920x800. I’m not even sure that’s supposed to be considered 1080p. Shouldn’t it be 1920x1080?
In the Plex App I see everything…
