FireTV app: "Black bars" are removed and image is deformed

Server Version#: Version 1.20.1.3252 (on synology NAS)
Player Version#: 8.7.3.21018 (from Amazon Appstore)

I have this issue since a couple of weeks.
It all started with h.265 videos. Then it affected to all videos.

Basically it “removes” the black bars, and adjust the image to fit in the screen. Therefore it deforms the image.

Is there something I can do on my side to change that?
When I disable the new video player in the app, and try to play a video, the app crashes.

When using the web player on my pc, the video is played correctly.

While the video is playing, bring up the player settings. There is an option to scale the image. Set it to “letterbox”. If you don’t want the black parts but the image in the correct ratio, set it to zoom.
