The Fire TV app is essentially unusable now. I don’t mind the new UI that isn’t the issue. This isn’t like the Roku update, where the interface changed but the app still functioned. The new Fire TV update completely cripples the app.
Nothing works the way it should. The app constantly crashes, search is broken, and it takes an extremely long time for content to start playing. These aren’t minor bugs or inconveniences ,they’re major issues that make the app practically unusable.
What I don’t understand is why this wasn’t thoroughly tested on Fire TV devices through a beta program before being rolled out to thousands of users. Pushing an update in this state is incredibly disappointing.
What’s even more concerning is that the developers aren’t responding to the numerous reports and discussion threads about these problems. There are widespread, serious issues with the Fire TV update, and the lack of communication only makes the situation worse. Users deserve acknowledgment that these problems exist and a clear timeline for when they will be addressed.

WTF would you put the libraries right down the center of the screen? What winter temperature IQ knuckle dragging moron thought that was a good idea?
It makes zero sense. No way was this tested on an actual firetv device before rolled out. This should have had a proper beta test just like the apple tv so we can report issues. And whats even more concerning is no dev is replying to any post.
plus youd think theyd go hey,..lets not reset all the setting in the app…but no…anytime my phone takes an update i dont have to do everything…but plex…ah…fck em
I cam here because the new fire tv app sucks in every way, ZERO User expierence testing, ZERO quality assurance.. Sorry I fully agree with the people in this post. I do not have used it that much so can’t say if i have the same issues then OP but guys really? Such a crap? Libraries on top, at least 2 clicks required to go tonthe correct library. Can’t turn of the ■■■■■■■ click noise, which idiot likes that? Where are the jump to the beginning / end buttons when playing a serie?
And there are a lot of missing features / bugs since ever, no one cares to resolve them..

It wouldn’t make any difference. The iOS/Android new experience apps were in beta for months. Users/testers were calling out bugs and faults left, right and centre and Plex still decided to release and deploy it knowing what a state it was in. They chose to do that. Clearly there were some more “important” factors to consider than releasing an app that actually worked.
Had to side-load to an older version to my Firesticks.
The new one? AB-SO-LUTE GARBAGE!!

Never mind the new interface and clunky experience… I can no longer long-click a folder to play or shuffle play the contained files, have no idea where my playlists have gone, I can no longer delete files… and I’m just scratching the surface.
I’m sure it’s fine for some, but for me… and I’m certain for others as well… it’s become completely unusable.
So I’ll stick to an older version hoping they will fix this piece of trash, as I actively look for an alternative.
I run a Plex server on my Synology NAS and the apps on Firesticks. Been a long term Plex user and a subscriber to Plex Pass. This is a real bummer.
