First impressions 0.3.0

hello,

i would love to play with the new version, but ...

when i use the rasplex updater in the gui it displays a message that the download failed, and

when i downloaded from sourceforge and unzipped on the rpi, i get an error message and unzip fails.

:-(

am i missing something, or just unlucky ?

Updated last night without any issues. Copied the system & kernel files to the updater directory on the Pi and rebooted. Updated without any issues. Wifi works well, faster booting and scrolling the menues noticeably faster. Haven't had time to really test everything but all seems fine so far

Hi,

the autoupdater didn't work for me either. So I was on 0.2.2 I think and what I did is the following:

Files:

  • SYSTEM
  • KERNEL -> just rename it to kernel.img
  • everything from 3rdparty/bootloader/
  • openelec.ico
  • README.md

Put the sdcard back into your raspberry and boot!

Hope that helps you guys ;)

Hmm video playback is busted for me after a clean install, back to 0.2.2!

Hey - very excited for this update but had two issues with a fresh 3.0 install

  1. Remote via apps not working. Rasplex is detected but not receiving commands (iOS and android)

  2. GPIO IR issues - does not consistently receive commands

Has anyone else had these issues?

I use the "xbmcremote" on an iphone to control my rasplex through wifi. Works just fine before and after upgrading. Had issues to airplay directly from the Plex app before upgrading. Have not tried this with 0.3.0 yet though

Thanks worked like a charm....Im noticing a nice speed improvement :)

Just use these instructions, much simpler:

http://sourceforge.net/p/rasplex/wiki/Update/

I used Step 3.Option 2 after extracting the archive

Same issue here with the Android app.

iOS app not working here either. same issue as you listed.

iOS control is a must as it really makes Rasplex shine IMHO. will go back to 0.2.2 for now until the bugs are worked out

I really do appreciate the devs releasing new builds though and I appreciate them using their time on this.

hi,

i tried this. when rasplex rebooted it reported a checksum error and refused the upgrade.  :-(

Sorry - the update archives were broken. Auto-Update should work now.

It seems OpenELEC 3.2.1 has some WiFi issues which are fixed with 3.2.2.

I hope I get these changes ready until tomorrow… RasPlex 0.3.1 is on it's way

0.3.1 has completely broken my iOS remote functionality. Which is strange as it was working fine under 0.3.0.

Reverting back to 0.2.2 for the time being. Shame as the newer builds remember the section view option that is set now.

Just reverted to 0.2.2 and remote issue still present.

I installed rasplex 0.3 on October 3rd fresh from the autoinstaller and it started without issues. I then noticed it did an upgrade to 3.1 which went into effect after a reboot.

Speed in menu's have improved, but there's still an annoying lag...

I'm looking forward to the next release...

After upgrading to 0.3.1 airplay and the iOS remote in the Plex-app work fine. I’m on iOS 7.02
