First impressions 0.3.0

Thanks very much for this update. My first impression is that its a good progress from previous version. Navigation fluidity has improved. That's the main thing for me.

My setup is I run Rasplex from a usb stick since its faster then from sd card. I overclock to turbo mode with heatsinks on the board.

So, there is still fluidity to be gained on navigation. Still a bit jerky from one section to the other. Still too long entering sections, especialy with that unnecessary submenu Plex has. Navigation inside sections is great, almost all lag is gone.

Questions:

1) Would it be possible to have a setting tool to eliminate the submenu when entering sections. Plexbmc has it. Possible?

2)Would it be possible to have choice of not showing fanarts? It would certainly improve navigation speed.

Thanks again for much appreciated work.

Ooh when was this released ?

I've been trying to test it out this morning but to no avail! When I try scrolling up to movies or tv shows menu it just crashes and I have to pull the power to restart.

Ooh when was this released ?

Around 10 hours ago?

None of this happens to me. Running quite well here.

Thanks!

I tried to download the file from the auto update directory to do a manual upgrade. Every time I get an error message that the system file is corrupted.

Same here, there is no way to decompress the tar file.

I had to install from scratch

0.9.8.6.175 on OS X 10.8.

I had to completely install 0.3.0 from scratch too. Now I can't assign the Pi a static IP as there's no way to confirm/save in the RasPlex settings modal.

I'm very sorry - it seems the upload was not finished successfully. Thanks for the hint!

[EDIT]
Sorry - it took far to long to fix this. But is working now!

Rasplex 3.0 broke my WiFi USB Realtek 8187L. :frowning:

Rasplex 3.0 broke my WiFi USB Realtek 8187L. :(

I've done some research and it should still work with 0.3.0 - it would be great to get some more details. Please activate the sama service and access the logfiles share and upload the file here or create an issue at https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/issues

Apologies for being dim but the latest release I can see on the SourceForge page is 0.2.2.

"Current" and "bleeding" are both 84 bytes only.

Same issue here, the desktop application also doesn't show 2.0 only 0.2.2..any ideas?

About wifi. I dont know if this will help. But on Openelec, upgrade to 3.2.1 broke my wifi. Is Rasplex 0.3.0 based on Openelec 3.2.0 or 3.2.1?

I am having the same issues updating, I am on windows and the installer is not showing the 3.0 and I cannot find the 3.0.img on sourceforge.  I attempted both the bleeding and current on the auto updater in rasplex as well, but the current says it is updating to 2.1 and throws and error with update.py(not sure why it is "updating" to an older version) and when I select bleeding it says it is updating to 3.3 and then throws an error that it cannot download.

Any help is much appreciated!

I had the same problem and with some searching found this link in the manual update wiki

http://sourceforge.net/projects/rasplex/files/autoupdate/rasplex/

Here is the link with the actual wiki that details how to manually install the update

Hope that helps

Doesn’t explain why the in plex updater doesn’t work.

Thanks a ton bellinger61, I had found the update download but couldn't quite figure out what to do with it.
