I’m using a standalone dedicated Plex server on a Windows laptop and my tuner is a HDHomerun EXTEND. On most Sunday mornings, scheduled recordings just don’t start recording despite no obvious problems. I have it set to record CBS Sunday Morning for one family member which starts before anyone here wakes up. It almost never starts this recording on time if it does at all. If I wake up while the shows still on like this morning, I’ll check and see that it’s not recording as scheduled and then tell Plex to tune to that channel and it’ll start recording then on it’s own from that point. I’ve eliminated signal strength issues after multiple antenna upgrades and when I manually get the tuning started it’s a strong solid signal and good recording. In our house it’s only Sunday mornings when it’s scheduled to record anything in the morning and that CBS show is usually the first recording in the morning and most likely to fail–so I tried scheduling the paid programming that immediately precedes that show on the same channel to see if I could “prime” it and have it start on time on the recording I care about, but like this morning that didn’t work either… it just totally didn’t record that paid programming and when I look at it in the scheduled recordings the error it shows for that is “Cannot record airing in the past” --although it was scheduled well in advance.
My Plex laptop does have power setting set to high performance and sleep has been disabled. Any ideas I could try to fix this rather annoying (especially for that family member) problem?
