Fix match/re-match entire library at once?

Is there a way to force a fix match on all items in a library without needing to manually clicking “fix match” on every item in said library?

I have a music library that I need to re-match about a lot of items and would take quite a while to do it manually on every album.

To clarify, a “refresh all metadata” is not what I want since afaik that won’t change the matched albums/singles.

Take note that I also have two libraries with movies and series that I DO NOT want to fix matches on, so it can’t be a solution that forces fix match on all libraries on the server, only have to do it on one library (the music library)

I also have Plexamp (latest available version) on iOS, if there’s any way of doing it from there (though I doubt it).

I’m running the latest available version of PMS on docker.

Fixing a match is a manual activity. It requires you to actually pick a correct/different artist/album match… so there’s no way to automate this.

If you’re experience the need to fix lots of matches this implies there’s a larger issue… most commonly you’ll see that kind of behavior if your file organization/naming don’t match what Plex expects to see or your files contain conflicting embedded metadata. It might be easier to look into that root cause than manually fixing so many items.

Unfortunately you’re wrong on both accounts. I’m using the correct naming and I haven’t enabled the use of local metadata. It’s an issue with musicbrainz beeing utterly useless since most of what I’m listening to isn’t there or having the wrong info, so I have to add or edit, and then wait 36h (because for some reason plex has decided that’s good enough…) and then fix match with the new info.

But thanks for letting me know I need to hate plex even more and have to continue doing this manually for every time.

Then you are way better off, by turning on “prefer local metatags”.
Avoid editing metadata within Plex as much as possible. Always try to solve things with embedded meta tags and folder structure.

Keep in mind that Plex has no support for more than one Album Artist.

Ok, will that alter/edit the files in any way or only read from them?

Plex itself will never alter your files.
Embedding meta tags will alter your files, but you’ll have to do that yourself.

That was my, apparently quite unclear, question. If plex embedded metatags. But I’ll take that as plex not embedding metatags either.

Thanks!
