Yup. I do not hear the theme music either. Strange, i thought this worked before.

My guess is with the removal of music they also took away the player that handheld themes. Hopefully this will come back when they put music back.

it did work before and now it doesn’t work anymore, it only works on the website

Indeed, I also noticed this on my Android smartphone.

It’s a shame that TV shows theme music no longer played in the mobile app.

It would be nice that PLEX restore this feature.

Yes, it worked before. It disappeared in the new ‘Experience’ apps.

It still works on the Web app and the Apple TV. Possibly in other older clients too.

I’ve mentioned it a couple of times as all my movies and TV shows - and some movie collections - have personally curated theme music. @McWanke said once that this removal was not intentional and that it would be coming back at some point. But, who knows?

Besides, in the clients where it still works, there’s a new bug where if Plex has a music theme in its DB for a TV show, it will ignore your theme.mp3 local asset. This has also been acknowledged - and filed - by @OttoKerner.
