FLAC Playback Fails on Vizio

Server Version#: 1.18.2.2058
Player Version#: 3.13.13
Vizio Model#: P65-C1
Vizio SmartCast Version#: 8.0.20.3

The Vizio app has FLAC listed under additional Direct Play Music Support, however, playback fails to start when using the Vizio Plex app. I’m experiencing the same issue on local and remote servers. From the logs, it appears the client is disconnecting:

Dec 15, 2019 20:02:24.686 [8188] DEBUG - Failed to stream media, client probably disconnected after 1523712 bytes: 10054 - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host
Dec 15, 2019 20:02:24.686 [8188] DEBUG - Completed after connection close: [IP Redacted] 206 GET /library/parts/98449/1576296484/file.flac (8 live) TLS 139ms 1523712 bytes (pipelined: 10) (range: bytes=0-)

When playback is initiated from the iOS app and cast to the TV, it works without issue.

Is this a client bug? A configuration issue on my part?

Hello, the bug is present in Vizio, I confirm. In a E65-D3 model, bug is simple. Launch the playback of a FLAC from Plex. The seconds are not advancing. No playback. Not even the “play” icon stating that the FLAC is currently read. Plex is just a half-blank screen.

The TV software is up to date. I got Vizio on a call saying that the firmware I have is the latest, and that they are waiting for Plex to deliver an update.

Confirmed here also Vizio P Series 75” music stops at one second and does not continue.

Well… it’s nice to know that it’s not just me. Hopefully this bug will get fixed soon.
