Hi,
I am sorry, I have spent hours trying to find info on this but I can’t so please could you help or at least pass this on to the right people.
I have recently paid for a monthly Plex-Pass, however I am unable to view my artwork in the parent Album and Artist folders. Only the songs themselves display the artwork.
I am using The Plex Server on my QNAP NAS and using the NAIM app to stream to my NAIM Streamer.
Before, when I used Twonky I had no problem displaying all the artwork. Which ever depth of the folders I delved into.
I am using both my android mobile and an iPad min for the NAIM App.
Also, after my intitial scan in Plex, it appears to have deleted all my cover art I spent hours adding to my music folders. Please can you tell me what has happened to these? The issue is also that when displayed on the song, they seem to be of much lower resolution than the original files that always displayed with Twonky.
Please can you fix this.
Please help, regards,
Trevor…

Plex does not display artwork for actual folders and honestly probably never will ( it does not for movies or TV either )
mainly designed to be viewed by ALL. If you want to make a feature request you can do so here https://forums.plex.tv/categories/feature-bug-voting
Hi thanks for this…I’ll sort out a request.
Please can you also have a look at the 2nd and 3rd parts of my query as I’m a little concerned by this.
Regards Trevor…
Sorry I don’t see any 2nd or 3rd question. You seem to want folder artwork , but Plex does not put artwork on folders at all. It puts them on Movies, for tv shows and their seasons, and for artists and albums. Plex does not alter your original files in anyway and should be in the directories on your hard drive where ever they may be.
I don’t know what the NAIM app is or what that has to do with Plex. I’ve never used Twonky either so cannot comment on that either
Sorry, I’m not talking about amending the original song files, what I mean is After I scanned my directories with Plex I can no longer see my artwork entitled “Folder”. What did Plex do with them? It must have done something? I am talking about 600 folders who’s artwork has vanished after running Plex scan.
Plex is slow. It takes about 5-10 seconds to open each layer once I get to “folder” level in the hierarchy.
Also, it is important to show folder artwork for Album covers as well as the songs themselves. My main focus is Music not Film. Please can you sort out this soon. Plex seems to be ignoring “Music” compared to “Film”. With more and more music being available in decent quality, 24 bit for example, it would be a mistake for Plex to ignore this area of the market.
Kind regards,
Trevor…
