Folder View and folder art?

Hello everyone, resetting up Plex after a move and a ransomware hit.

I have a question regarding folder art, meaning in Folder view, how do you get the artwork to display? I have tried all sort’s of naming tricks but then I recently read something about possibly need Plex Pass for this to work.

So the question I have is, if I purchase a plex pass will folder artwork be displayed in folder view? Thanks.

Basic library functions shouldn’t be impacted by having or not having a Plex Pass membership.

Though I’m not sure what kind of folder art you’re missing… Plex should show the posters of individual items inside your folders as it does in any of the other regular views. There’s no means to assign posters/art/images to the folder icons themselves.

I guess it’s not available based on you reply. I was hoping for the “folder art” like the poster is. Meaning when in folder view you see artwork of the movie instead of the “folder icon”. Also being in folder view and being able to view in a grid format.

I thought Plex did this. But it’s been 6+ years ago since I used Plex, I might be confusing this with other servers/players.

You might be thinking of the firsts Plex apps Plex Media Center or Plex Home Theater which were mostly just ports of Kodi (XBMC)

Would be nice if Plex support that at some point. It was nice when I use to use Kodi and that feature.

Dam, just noticed my login is the same as the main account on my server … I hate that, auto login from the server …
