It’s incredibly time consuming to trick plex and give extras fake episode numbers for tons of content. I just want to toss it in a folder and access it as-is. Is this possible at all? Or at least a program that can automate this fake renaming process for multiple files?
Not with Plex’ default scanners/agents.
There’s a user-built scanner that has extended Plex’ default behavior and allows addition of local media assets to shows, seasons and episodes (however those are not displayed in all clients).
You’ll still need to follow some naming conventions for your folder structures… and of course no guarantees.
Ah very cool, it includes individual season extras as well which is a must-have. Thanks. Hopefully Plex has a solution to this before they fully deprecate all these plugins 
Edit: Can’t get that plugin to work… Will probably try some more later.
