Is there anyway to force a max bitrate or resolution for all clients wanting to transcode? I know you can force it on the clients, but I would like to enforce it server side if possible. Maybe force 720p or lower for all transcoding?
No. Each client has control of its settings. The client app knows what’s possible.
There are some limits you can apply for remote clients.
Settings -> Remote Access -> Limit Remote Stream Bitrate
Set the maximum bitrate of a remote stream. It is a global setting for all remote clients.
You cannot set it on a per user/client/etc basis.
Web Client -> Quality -> Video Quality
Choose max bandwidth/resolution. Again, a global setting applied to all remote web clients.
