Force Plex to use UHD 770

Hi all. I have just rebuilt my Plex server and picked the Intel® Core™ i5-12600K Processor as I read that it is a very good choice for multiple transcodes without the need for a dedicated GPU. I have been using a GTX 1050 Ti and planned to retire that however my new motherboard only has a single HDMI socket (An ASRock Z790 Lightning) and seemingly the USBC on the back doesn’t carry video,

Subsequently, I had to install the GTX 1050 Ti and Plex seems to be picking it for HW transcoding. The only options in settings are Auto or selecting the card - both of which seem to use the card.

Does anyone have any tips on how I might be able to shift the transcoding to the UHD770 iGPU?

You’re saying the iGPU isn’t listed in Settings > [Server Name] > Transcoder > Hardware transcoding device?
What version of PMS have you installed? Are you running it natively or from within a container?

I’m running Version 1.41.3.9314 as it’s a fresh install

I can only see the GFX card there - should I be able to see UHD 770 as an option?

it’s listing the iGPU for me; though my server is running on a headless Linux machine.

iGPU transcoder selection

No such luck for me unfortunately - but do you have a GFX card installed in that machine?

Do you have multi-monitor enabled in your BIOS? It enables the iGPU and GPU at the same time and isn’t enabled by default.

Sir - you’re a life saver. If you’re ever in Yorkshire I owe you a pint

If I’m ever there it’ll be to catch a Vikings match so as long as the offer is good there, sounds great lol
