Currently there is an issue where if you replace a file with another with the exact same file name Plex will not rescan thumbnails/intros, even if it has a different size/modification date. It’s possible this is by design, but it creates an issue with the intro markers as there is no good way to reset them.
The only way I’ve found to fix the issue is to completely remove the show from plex, clear the trash, and then add it back. The big downside to this is you lose all the metadata. If it was just one item it wouldn’t matter, but I often replace shows with the exact same file name and have no idea what shows might be affected. I can’t see a solution aside from manually checking all 400+ shows or essentially recreating my entire TV library and losing all the metadata I’ve curated.
Alternatively an option to clear all intro tags would work (an option similar to deleting the video preview thumbnails).
This is the only other poster I saw discussing this issue.

-ash: X-Plex-Token=DXXXXX_zXXXXXXXXXXXX: command not found
I used --insecure because of a self signed certificate.
Did i miss something or is there another way now? I had to clean up some series episodes because of the wrong sequence and now i have to rescan the intros.
Kind regards
The command should still work. I’m not very familiar with curl but I don’t think you can make an insecure command through https. Have you tried without that parameter or by using the appropriate http address?
I’ve recently replaced some of my worst quality DVDs with blurays, and ripped them to my Plex server. The DVDs were UK PAL versions (so 25fps), while the blurays are all 24fps. So the films are all now slightly longer than they were when the credit markers were first detected. As an example, the “skip credits” for Twelve Monkeys now appears ~5.5 minutes before the credits start, which is consistent with the runtime difference - PAL ~2h 3m, bluray ~2h 9m.
I really assumed that changing the length of the film would have triggered re-detection because of course the markers are no longer going to be valid when the runtime changes.
I would maybe rephrase the feature suggestion to ask for a UI button or option under troubleshooting to force intro re-detection instead of a cli PUT command.
As nice as it is to be able to issue a PUT command to do this, if you have multiple shows/episodes that this needs to happen with, having a UI button you can simply click per show would be nice to have.
