Force re-check of intro detection

Server Version#:1.19.3.2831
Player Version#:

I replaced a few files recently with ones that have a bit more stuff at the start (not more intro, just stuff before the intro). The intro detection had already ran so I ran it again (ran analysis on the files). Server console says that it is slipping detection because it’s already up to date. But it’s not. It’s a few seconds off. Enough to make the skip intro option appear and disappear before the intro starts.

How can I force Plex to perform a fresh intro detection without skipping files that it has already done?

We intend to fix this bug in the not-too-distant future (it’s the same bug we have around preview thumbnails)

Doing the Plex Dance would fix it, but I do agree that it’s an imperfect (read: bad) workaround.

After googling what a Plex dance was I tried it and it worked!

Thanks for the work around!

(Love the intro skip feature btw)

I was writing up a post regarding this on Windows Server, until this post came up in the suggestions on the side (nice forum feature btw!). I assume the same bug will be resolved on Windows? I have the same issue because I have automatic emptying of trash disabled. Only way to get it to redetect the intro is to move the files temporarily, thus loosing all existing library data.

Getting spoiled by the ‘Skip Intro’ for newly added items. Currently watching stuff I’ve had for a while, and being able to rescan for ‘intro detection’ would be real nice. I know the scan takes a long time, so I’d prefer to only scan a series when I know I’ll be watching it.
