Force re-scanning of extras

I inadvertently placed the extras for one of my movies incorrectly, e.g. not adhering to the naming schema described in Local Files for Movie Trailers and Extras | Plex Support (I forgot the subfolder named after the movie).

I realized my mistake only after scanning. Plex recognized the movie but not the extras. It also didn’t recognize them as separate items in the library, it just ignored them.

Later, when I fixed the folder structure, I did a re-scan but the extras still didn’t show up. Even removing the entire movie and all extras from the folder, re-scanning and later re-adding them didn’t work. It seems like Plex has remembered that these were invalid files and now refuses to take them into account. This has previously happened on a different movie when I had mistyped a extra type suffix.

How can I force Plex to drop these items from its blocklist and re-index those extras?

Plex does not have a block list. Can you share the naming you are using?

So my movie is at /mnt/upper/movies/Comedy/Housekeeping (1987)/Housekeeping (1987).mkv (where /mnt/upper/movies/ is my library root folder).

Inside the Housekeeping (1987) folder I have:

This is the same format I use for all other movies and extras which show up fine. But Housekeeping shows no extras:

You should be able to just refresh the metadata for that movie and those files will get picked up. If not, please provide me the PMS logs after trying. Plex Media Server Logs | Plex Support

Ah, yes, that did the trick. I feel so stupid now. Here I was always rescanning the entire library…
