Several times most weeks, either due to a Plex Media Server “feature” (or bug) and or an EPG listing error, I would like to record an OTA broadcast show that PMS refuses to record.
It appears that PMS refuses to record any show that PMS thinks is already recorded. This behavior seems to occur generally, and also even when the Live TV & DVR > Guide listing indicates “RECORDING SCHEDULED” for a show.
(Record Options for all scheduled recordings are: Record All Episodes, New and Repeat Airings, Prefer HD, Allow partial airings, Any (channel), Any (airing time), Detect Commercials Disabled, Keep All episodes, Never delete episodes after playing. The dedicated 12TB (library) drive has >8TB free. The Mac hosting PMS is dedicated exclusively for PMS—I’ve never seen the Plex Dashboard indicate even 20% CPU utilization: Plex indicates 1% PMS, 2% system.)
(IMO: PMS should never refuse to record a show when a user manually attempts such—a previous recording could be defective or entirely the wrong show due to an EPG listing error. If a user wants multiple copies of a show, that should occur.)
Is there any way to force a recording of a scheduled-to-be-recorded show?
Is there any way to force a recording of a not-scheduled-to-be-recorded show that appears in the Live TV & DVR > Guide listing?
Is there any way to force a recording of a show that does not appear in the Live TV & DVR > Guide listing, say, with date, time and (display or physical) channel number?
Thank you for your time.
