When I got a new router I setup a new account for plex. I forgot the password and don’t know the email address. I do know the username and it’s on my network. Is there anything I can do to get my password changed? Since I don’t know the email it can’t be normaly reset. Any suggestions?

Haven’t you got an archiv of old emails, where you could filter for emails from plex.tv?
Btw. a new router/server is no reason to create a new account. You can use as many servers in an account as you like.
The account in question username is goatdude. When I got this new router it has plex built in. When setting it up it wouldn’t let me log into my old account. Made me setup a new one. I have tried all my emails (only have 2) and it’s neither one of those. I can see it still active on my network but can’t access it
That’s not a new account and also it is not an account which has a router as a Plex server.

This account was made 6 months to 1 years ago(forget when I got the router). And yes it’s served from a router. It’s a netgear x10 with a harddrive attached to it. Now you ask how do I know it’s being served from the router. Great question. I do not have another computer functioning that can run said server.
The account I found is way older. So it’s definitely not yours.
Router was bought in feb 12. Setup a few days after that. Now if you are saying this isn’t my account why does it show up on my network. Also is not for my fork203551 account. This account is really old. This is for my goatdude account made in February or early March.

So what you are seeing is a server name, not an account name.
Only thing I see is the name goatdude.

Here is what I see when I log into my plex on this account. I did set it up under the more tab a while back. Was trying to make sure I got all the labels correct when making the new account
Yeah, that’s a server name and it is actually been signed into your plex account now.
But it’s still on version 1.19.5, so it urgently needs an update.

My router says it’s up to date. Remember it’s running fully off the router. So there may be a different ver number
As you can see by the date, it is from September 2020.
So it is outdated.
However, by using this router, you are 100% dependent on its manufacturer for Plex server updates. Because the plex server is contained within its firmware.
If the manufacturer doesn’t provide Plex server updates regularly within new router firmware versions, you are losing out.
Since you are saying I’m logged into it. The why can’t I change folders or add files

Probably because the server version is pretty old.
I am not familiar with the server version for routers. So can unfortunately not give any hints for it.
I don’t know what kind of account you did switch there, but apparently it was not a Plex account.
Maybe it had to do with the router’s other (i.e. apart from Plex) features?
