I just posted a new question and the forums are now spamming me with:
“You’ve asked questions that now have answers. Make sure you accept/reject the answers.”
I switched that topic from a question to a discussion for you. But looking at your discussions page you have 18 questions that don’t seem to have answers yet: https://forums.plex.tv/profile/discussions/stevenha
Many of us have stopped using “Ask a question” because the forum seems to frequently break and start bugging you with those prompts when it shouldn’t. Mostly we use “Start a discussion” to avoid it.
My question is…
If Plex claims they have customer support and points to this forum as that vehicle, why don’t they FIX it or just admit the truth?? There is NO customer support but just an Internet USERS GROUP that may be able to help!!
Thank God for all the good and smart folks in this forum.
Raising it as a bug with Vanilla Forums would be good idea.
If there’s an issue with Questions and there’s the option to change the default to discussion that might be a good temporary workaround until a fix to the forums can be installed.

I raised an issue with the forums a couple of weeks ago, it took over a week to get a response from Plex about it, and it’s been well over a week and it’s still not fixed, and that’s way after Vanilla was told about it. Since Vanilla would have to enable this feature, let’s take bets how long it would take to get this workaround implemented. hahaha

A matter of priorities I think!!
This is pretty much the Plex model of support in a nutshell. Plex has no product support staff, they have different team members that may know about a small section of the app, but majority of the devs never even bother to look at the forums. Instead they have thrived off tricking the community into helping its self to fix Plex’s issues for them. Now Plex has gotten to the point where its no longer a small community, its an app with millions of users. They need a support staff or to be more active again on the forums, the users are tired of doing support for them.
I am not even sure if the Plex team even listens to the communities requests/wants for features in Plex anymore. There are a lot of really great features half made in Plex with more being requested on the forums. Instead of working on improving support or fixing bugs they bought a news app, which most of us have expressed we won’t use.
It’s pretty bad when your community actively jokes about your company not having support and to never expect anything to ever be finished/fixed in normal Plex fashion. When your customers have grown to just expect that type of experience from your company you probably won’t stay the leader in that area for long… Soon your reputation as company will out-shadow your product. (Emby keeps getting more and more tempting as time goes by)
There are several of us who are are in the forums.
Speaking for myself, 99% of my time is dedicated to forum support. The other 1% is developing / fixing general Linux and Synology package issues (distribution binaries which you install).
My expertise is with Linux, not Windows or Mac OS. I can address some of Mac OS due to it’s BSD Unix roots (which I started using in 1983).
As I have stated elsewhere, I will state here. I am always available to be ‘pinged’ by using @ChuckPa. Doing so will send an email directly to my machine and I will be notified (approx 10 minutes).
If I can be of any further assistance, please don’t hesitate to ping.
Can someone look at my account and change all my questions to discussions? I have questions I posted when I did a one month Plex Pass (which I opted not to renew due to Plex Live TV / DVR not having the features I need to replace Win 7 MCE).
Now that I’m not a Plex Member I’m unable to access those questions I Posted while I Plex Pass Member.
