PLEASE STOP it NOW

Will whoever runs this forum please adjust the settings to STOP the NAGGING

I get that

“You’ve asked questions that now have answers. Make sure you accept/reject the answers.”

But I do not need to be nagged 23 times a minute!

I am not kidding, it is constantly nagging me every 10 or 15 seconds. Even whilst writing this message it has nagged me 8 times so far

This is just unprofessional IT Admin and makes the Plex Forum site unusable

Moreover it turns Plex Lovers into Plex Haters

There are questions that are unanswered, how does it help if I go tick a box wrongly just to get rid of the bloody nag popup.

You’ve asked questions that now have answers. Make sure you accept/reject the answers.

So annoying

You can answer ‘No.’ Then the popups stop.

If that were the case I would be fine, there is not a NO option, just the X and I click that every time, Then around 15 secs later it pops up again.

This nags more than a wife!!

More than a Boss!

In fact if a Boss nagged me this much I would see them outside after work and explain the meaning of life to them!!

I looked in settings, no option to stop this daft coding,

Or you can do what I have done and simply stop asking questions. I use the “Start a discussion” option instead of “Ask a question” even when I ask a question.

I do not like much of the “badges” and “notifications” of this new setup but I have found that most of the irritations go away if you simply turn most everything off in settings and do not use the questionable “ask a question” option.

Thanks Elijah_Baley

I will try that

In theory, when that popup comes up, if you click on the link in the message, it should take you to a list of your posts that have answers. You open the thread, and the latest reply(ies) should have a question saying “Did this answer your question?” At this point, you can answer Yes or No. Once all of those questions are answered, the popup should stop appearing.

There have been occasions where I have had the popup appearing when there were no threads needing that attention. In those cases, something has gotten screwed up in the database, and it may take a moderator to fix it.

It has happened to me enough times that I, like Elijah, have quit using the ‘Ask Question’ option.

I didn’t know this exists, never noticed the dropdown.

Same thing happening to me. I have no questions that have been answered, and I can’t stop this annoying feature. It’s even worse, because I have problems that need fixing and even as a paid subscriber nobody is answering them. I’m feeling a move back to Emby coming on.

Yes. Obviously it makes sense to change the platform you use to stream media because their support forums have a few shortcomings that have nothing to do with the functionaility of the software… /s

I am considering moving because my media centre is currently unable to play my media and my family is sick of it. As I have already said in other posts that have gone unanswered.

Well I have been using Plex for four years… In that time I have been waiting for two things. A usable option for movie collections and a server side setting for client bandwidth limits… More recently I foolishly upgraded my 2015 Samsung TV that Is developed by a non Plex employee to a 2016 model that is now an official Plex app hence going from a fully supported device to a totally non supported device. So since then I have been struggling along with Plex Media Player.
My frustrations got the better of me and I installed Emby Server and Emby Media Player running alongside Plex. purely so I would no longer have to tolerate PMP or wait for the already several months overdue UI refresh.
Having done that I asked my girlfriend to install the Emby app on her Roku purely to test that Emby was working remotely. She detests change and is a real technophobe. I was therefore pretty surprised when I saw her still using it the day after. When I asked why she just said its so much easier to find what she wants to watch. I couldn’t really argue either.
So collections and favourites on the home page of the clients and client bandwidth capping. I’m pretty much done now.
Its a sad indictment that the thing I will miss about Plex are @Orca Samsung app, Plex requests and PlexPy.
The thing that they have in common is they are all not developed by Plex. And yes I know that the PlexPy developer has been taken on by Plex but he wasn’t when he launched PlexPy.

Emby was supposed to be a temporary solution until I have a decent theatre client to watch my media with Plex. I was quite astonished how it has developed since the last time a tried it a year or so ago. I recall the CPU usage was crazy if the server needed to transcode. I would say its now similar to Plex.

I cannot argue with the fact that you are looking at moving back and if Plex isn’t working for you then just do it.
