Hey Plex, can you fix your forum

Can you fix your forum setup so that I do not get hit with the stupid “You’ve asked questions …” pop up after I have tagged a response?

Don’t ask a question then…

Start a discussion is there too…

Then why have the option?
That is not a fix that is a cop-out workaround and a pretty weak one at that.
But since you do not work for Plex and I was asking the Plex people then …

And please can you (Plex) also change the color of the like button in “feature request” to orange if I have pressed. I never can see if I liked a request or not :’(

Good luck getting a response. You’ll need it.

Unfortunately Plex may not have the ability to make this change. The forum software comes from a company called Vanilla Forums. This complaint has been raised here many times, and I’m sure Plex has raised the issue with Vanilla. It pretty much depends on Vanilla Forums to fix this. In my brief experience with them, Vanilla doesn’t like to be told they have problems, so I don’t know how responsive they’ll be. They haven’t done much so far.

That’s basically why most of us have resorted to not using the ‘Ask a Question’ option when posting a message here.

Thanks @beckfield. I thought it had been fixed though. I remember having the popup would always show up when they first switched to this horrid thing, then it seemed to stop for a while. Now it appears to be back.
But it also appears to depend on the version being used.
There is one for larger businesses and an open source one for small business, which is the one I am thinking Plex is using since the cheapest Corporate one is $600(US)/month (but of course Plex could be using that one).
If it is the open source one then it should be fixable on the Plex end.

A Plex employee said in another discussion that the Plex forums are hosted and managed by Vanilla.

Hey, thanks for that link.
Makes my thought process seem correct now, I swear it was fixed at some point and is broken again.

(But of course have to wonder about spending $7200 a year minimum for this forum software - not worth it at all in my mind.)

Click on the link that appears in this little popup and copy the URL into here.
This usually happens when a post was deleted from a ‘Question’-thread.

Thanks @OttoKerner

Sorry, that leads me to my own threads.
Click on the thread title in there and then copy the URL.

Ah, it is a ‘question’ where the only answer came from you.
Weird behaviour of Vanilla.
Anyway, it should be fixed now.

Many thanks.

how about just having the forums work in Safari mobile OS’s…
