Forward and back navigation (Seek) BROKEN!

Plex Media Server Logs_2021-02-04_15-30-53.zip (1.0 MB)

Here are the logs (after enabling on the client). These logs were recorded while I was shooting the video which I uploaded in my last post.

Hope this helps.

Device name: HiSmartTV A4
Plex version: 8.12.3.22809 (232f6ed9).

Reporting that this is broken on my Smart TV as well, first AC3, now this as soon as it’s fixed.

Dunno what happened with these logs, but I don’t see the server logs in there. Tried to reproduce more on my end and having now issues on my end. Could you reproduce again and generate the logs again please?

Yeah… you asked me to turn on the ā€œlog to serverā€ at the client end. I thought you only wanted the client end. You guys need to be more specific.

I have now enabled logging on both client and server and have tried to reproduce but haven’t had any luck. Will try again soon and hopefully get some logs to you within the next day or so.

In still having this issue. I can’t be the only one… Right?

Found another situation where seeking can potentially fail. I’ve added a fix that hopefully makes it in the next release.

I’m still getting navigation failures, but it isn’t on all files.I think I it seems to be happening on certain ones now. When I get time,iI’ll hopefully try to identify commonality between the failures and successes.

I do get an error after it infinitely loads ( file format not supported ) I can only fast forward 1 minute at a time max and let it load. If I do 1.5 minute it will stay on the loading circle and then the error comes.

Plex tizen : 5.9.2
Pms synology : 1.21.3.4046

This is still a problem, videos with 5.1 sound fail to play if navigation buttons such as next episode are used. After several updates, why is this still not fixed?

Same Here. Can I attach a video?

Yes I noticed that there seemed to be some recent improvements, and now we seem to be back in the same position (or worse) than before. It’s almost like someone over-wrote all the recent code changes. I hope you guys are using a good source code repository.

I am now experiencing a failure every time I use forward or backward. I have to stop and restart from were I left off. This is so frustrating. Any worse and it will be unfit for purpose.

It never got better for me. Well, actually it broke initially in January, where you couldn’t play 5.1 audio files ā€˜at all’.

Then three days later they fixed that but you still couldn’t navigate to files with 5.1 audio, and it’s never been fixed for me, for almost two months now. I’m not happy.

One the older Samsungs that streams remotely is having this issue, but not the newer ones. As other have described, rewind/ff just show the buffering circle and the video keeps playing where it was even while the bar showing the new location to play indicates it was rewinding or ff.

Attaching a log file in hopes that it helps. After the latest update, it’s still not fixed.

Still having this issue. Seeking in a video basically breaks the player, causing endless buffering.
