Found the issues that you can't set a Pin to a user

Server Version#: 1.19

I’ve been struggling for the past few days to add a managed user and set a PIN. It constantly told me " This PIN could not be saved."

I was using the https://app.plex.tv/desktop
I switched to my server’s IP address: https://192.168.4.2:32400
And suddenly everything worked as when I last did it for the 2 other users.

I was logged in on the same (admin) user than before.
I have been able to replicate the issue all the time.
Not being able to create a PIN when on app.plex.tv.
But able to when I log in to my server’s IP address directly.

Just backing up this reported problem as it’s the same on my Plex solution v 1.19 as well. The problem also existed on 1.18 prior to the upgrade.

I had 1.18 and guessed my problem was my server being out of date.
I proceeded to update to 1.19 and the issue remained
That’s when I tried to access via IP instead.

I can confirm this “bug?”
Logging in through app.plex.tv gives the error, while logging in with my IP/servername lets me change the pin.

thanks anyway for the workaround

same here, I am used to set PIN to kids when their duties are not met, when all done I remove PIN so they can watch their series. It came with 1.18.9.2578 I guess. Not able to change or remove PIN

Can confirm i have also run into this issue. Panicked for a second worrying the database was corrupt but luckily logging in locally to change the PIN worked for me too.
Currently running Version 1.19.1.2645 on Linux.

Looks like the set pin can’t be performed from a remote location! Was able to set it locally though

Can confirm this workaround works!

I’m glad I could help you guys.
Any word on Plex staff on when they’ll fix that bug?

A fix should be live now at https://app.plex.tv
