The Daily Show is getting logged as Season 3 of its entire show run (since 1996) – that puts current episodes in Craig Kilborn territory.
Actual EPG info in the Plex Live TV guide (from Gracenote/On Connect) is correct; upcoming episodes read as “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” and have the correct guest info. Unfortunately, once it’s recorded and processed by Plex, it’s using the TVDB info for the show (thetvdb.com/series/the-daily-show), using “Season 3” and ending up with wrong episode info.
INSIGHT: The TVDB seems to treat franchises inconsistently; ‘The Daily Show’ only has one entry and its status is “Continuing” whereas ‘The Tonight Show’ has an entry for each generation/host of the show (thetvdb.com/search?q=the+tonight+show&l=en) with ‘Season 1’ beginning anew for each host.
It’s not a huge thing, but it’d be great to see the right guest name under the poster/in the dashboard/etc…
